G-Force GS8 1/8 Electric Chassis

On road rc motorcycles discussion board

A new racing bike was introduced by G-Force, the 1/8 scale GS8. Although the bike is very pleasing to the eye due to the awesome carbon fiber frame and aluminum components, it is not supposed to be just a shelf queen. This is a true racer with lots of unique features that set it apart.

Unlike most of the rc bikes, the G-Force GS8 uses a belt drive system for transferring power to the rear wheel. The aluminum swingarm, connected to an oil filled shock, can easily handle the vibrations from the wheel while the geometry of the suspension can be infinitely varied due to the special shock mount design. The swingarm, as well as the spur gear and the front belt pulley, rotate on a single layshaft reducing this way the overall weight of the rc bike.

Maximum drivetrain efficiency is achieved with the use of ball bearings in all the components attached to the layshaft so that everything can move freely and independently. The motor mount, also machined from billet aluminum, is designed for hosting a brushless motor. All this transmission assembly can slide on the frame allowing optimum wheelbase adjustment. Since the bike is tuned for a brushless/lipo combination, using a brushed setup would require different springs for both front and rear shock that would compensate for the additional weight, however, they are not included in the G-Force GS8 kit.

Did I just say front shock ? Yes, a front shock. Moving away from the common fork setup, G-Force came up with a whole new suspension system that can be met on no other rc bike. Ultimate handling performance can be achieved by varying the oil weight, spring stiffness and damper piston. The motorcycle's height can be altered by adjusting the spring preload providing a 15mm travel, enough for smoothing out rough asphalt courses.
